We are not a core-funded organisation and are kept very busy looking after our programmes and Perrott’s Folly.  This means that unfortunately we are not able to respond to all enquiries we receive about the building.  Please review the below before getting in touch.

GENERAL VISITS

Unfortunately the costs associated with opening the tower for a general visitor day are almost as high as the building. We spent many years trialling different ways of opening via donations model, but unfortunately visitors mostly did not contribute, even a penny, despite knowing we were not core funded. The building ended up loosing money and we could not justify continuing this approach.

We therefore now focus on running fundraising events that include activities, access is available as part of programmes and free with donation suggested for funded exhibitions.

PRIVATE ACCESS

We are not yet in a position to hire the building for private access until we have a toilet installed, hopefully spring 2022. We will then look to hire out the Folly, but due to the nature of the building it will come with more T’s and C’s than your average community space.

FILM AND TV

We can support film and TV hire, but require appropriate levels of insurance both in terms of the physical building and reputational damage.

INFLUENCERS

You are welcome to hire the building in line with our T’s and C’s, but we can’t facilitate free access.

ABSEILING

This would be really fun, but we are not insured to support abseiling.

RESEARCH

As we are not a core funded organisation we are unable to afford the labour associated with supporting students undertaking dissertations, Post Graduate research or PHD’s without remuneration.
